TEEN DRIVER’S ED

At A Camino Real Driving & Traffic School we offer teenage driver education for minors.

(ONLINE) Teenage Driver Education  $24.00

Minors under 18 are required to take 30 hrs. of classroom instruction prior to obtaining a learners permit. The 30 hrs. of classroom consist of Reading, Videos, Discussions, Sample Testing and preparation for the written examination. Upon completion of the 30 hrs. of classroom the student will be issued a certificate of completion required by DMV to take the written examination. We will schedule an appointment at DMV upon the student’s request for faster service. The following is a list of documents required to present to DMV the day of exam.

  • DMV application signed by one of the parents accepting liability. The application can be completed online for you convenience.
  • Original birth certificate, U.S. Passport or Proof of legal residence (one of these)
  • Original social security card (must not be laminated)
  • Certificate of driver education completion
  • DMV application fee (check the DMV website for current rate)

Upon passing the written exam you will be issued a Learners Permit. This permit is NOT valid until you receive the first driving lesson from a licensed instructor who must sign your permit to validate it. You must wait six month from the date you received your permit to be able to take the drive test.

Driver Training

Driver training consist of six (6) hours of behind the wheel training with a certified driving instructor. The training will consist of all that you will need to know to pass your DMV drive test. Upon completion of the six hours you will be issued a certificate of completion. This certificate must be presented to DMV the day of your drive test.
You may drive with a licensed driver 25 yrs of age or older, but not alone.

Cancellations:

We do require at least a three hour grace period prior to your scheduled driving lesson to cancel. Please keep in mind that the Instructor needs adequate timing to get from one lesson to another. Failure to cancel in the time frame indicated will result in deduction of time from your remaining training hours:

If you cancel 3 hrs. prior to the lesson. No time will be deducted

If you cancel 2 hrs. prior to the lesson. ½ half an hour will be deducted

If you cancel 1 hr. prior to the lesson.1 hour will be deducted

If you cancel once the instructor has arrived at your home: 2 hrs. will be deducted

Failure to have your instruction permit on hand will be considered canceling and you will lose 2 hrs. of training.
